Thank You, Seattle and San Jose

The LIVESTRONG Challenge team would like to thank both Seattle and San Jose for joining together with us to hold two successful and amazing Challenges.

The first half of our Challenge Series has been memorable for us in a number of ways. In our inaugural year in their city, Seattle raised just over $1 million with 3,100 riders, runners, walkers and volunteers contributing to the fight against cancer. And in our second year in San Jose, we had 3,600 participants who raised $1.3 million. We can’t thank you enough for your support, your energy and your passion.

And remember, even though the event in your city may be over, you can still continue fundraising and raising awareness in the fight against cancer.

We’d love to have you join us in Austin this October for Ride for the Roses, where the top fundraisers will be invited to take part in a weekend of fun activities. Participants will receive exclusive apparel and have some amazing experiences alongside Lance Armstrong, who will be joining us for the weekend.

We hope to see you in Austin.

Austin Hosts Final Livestrong Challenge of 2008

Families, friends and neighbors gathered together in Austin to take part in the final event of this year's LIVESTRONG Challenge Series. As the largest event of the Series, it should come as no surprise that there was plenty of passion, camaraderie, and inspiration to go around. While our events are intended to be a celebration of the fight against cancer, we’d like to offer another round of applause and an enthusiastic “thank you” to all of our LIVESTRONG Challenge Austin participants.  Over the course of the weekend, nearly 8,000 runners, riders and volunteers collectively raised over $3.7 million (to date) while participating in a remarkable close to our 2008 Series.

Austin’s success, was part of a bigger accomplishment. Because of participant turnout and fundraising efforts in Portland, San Jose, Philadelphia, and Austin, the 2008 LIVESTRONG Challenge Series saw 17,772 participants contribute over $9.7 million to the fight against cancer! As a Foundation, we are truly blessed to have the support of such hard working and generous individuals.
